Raiders
The Raiders is a competitive program that has a season that is all about physically challenging the cadets across a set of outdoor adventure events. Everything is based on building teamwork, skill, strength, and stamina. The season is in the Fall and compete to go to the Florida State Competition in December.
Color Guard Team
The JROTC Color Guard Team provides an honorable tradition and precision during the school's home Football games and presents the flag of our nation at the start of every home game. Additionally, the cadets on the Color Guard Team also has a season in the Winter. The cadets practice for hours after school to prepare for the competition season against all of the other Army JROTC programs in our region. It is all about precision and pride and teamwork.
Drill Team
Developed during the Revolutionary War, the importance of drill and ceremony is rooted in tradition during the Revolutionary War from Baron von Stueben. The importance of drill and ceremony is the discipline required to be successful and the teamwork which is essential in the classroom and in life. Drill and ceremony is just one way cadets develop these essential life skills. Drill and ceremony is about bearing and how you conduct yourself in a disciplined manner. It dates back to the American Revolution War. It helps develop pride and confidence in their actions, learning professionalism and most importantly, it teaches them how to work as a team. Drill and ceremony builds esprit de corps: a common spirit of comradeship, enthusiasm, and devotion. A lot of training goes into executing drill and ceremony. It bonds cadets together.
Exhibition Teams
Air Rifle Team
The Battalion has a Air Rifle Team that focuses on learning about safe marksmanship training. The Civilian Marksmanship Program has overarching responsibility to certify the instructors of this program. It is dictated by the U.S Government to do three things:
1) Instruct citizens of the United States in marksmanship
2) Promote practice and safety in the use of forearms
3) Conduct competitions in the use of firearms and to award trophies, prizes and badges to the competitors.
The Baldwin Middle-Senior High School JROTC participates in this during the Winter months and the practice and competitions are all conducted inside on the school grounds.
