Why should you join JROTC?
The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens.
As a student and a cadet, you are the focus of Army JROTC’s mission. In fact, you are the whole point of Army JROTC—it is devoted to your growth, both as a student and as a person. This program is a cooperative effort on the part of the Army and our school. |
Student Testimonials
Below, read what some of our cadets have said why they joined JROTC at Baldwin Middle-Senior High School and what they find so important about their time in High School and Army JROTC.
Cadet Kaitlynn Waddell"When I first joined the Baldwin JROTC program I thought it was just something to help me get started with my military career but I learned it was so much more. Not only do you now feel like you’re part of a family but you learn things about yourself that could take years to learn. You develop as a person and understand your thinking process. People think some characteristics arnt necessary in life but a lot of them are surely useful. JROTC is more than just military but about self development and discipline".
Cadet Addison Noble“JROTC for me has been so much more important than I ever thought it would be when I signed up in 8th grade. I’ve met some amazing people that I never would have gotten the chance to meet if it wasn’t for JROTC. I’ve had the opportunity of spending my high school days with a family. I’ve never been one to fit in or be liked but JROTC has opened a huge door for me and made me feel welcome. I’ve had some amazing growing experiences and memories. Of course, some weren’t so easy to tackle like if it wasn’t for JROTC and JCLC I would have never got even 10 feet in the air let alone dangle 50+ feet. I’m so incredibly grateful to Sergeant Major and Major for always pushing me and shaping me into the person I am today. If I could go back I’d do the same thing all over again. I mean it when I say JROTC is the best thing that has ever happened to me”.

Cadet Marshay Duggins“I joined JROTC, because I was wanting for a challenge to take on. Military practices are not really my style, but after joining JROTC I gained not only some military knowledge, but I also gained confidence, leadership skills, and a new perspective of myself within both my academics and personal life”.
