Distinctive Unit Crest
Symbolism. Red, black, and white are the Baldwin Middle-Senior High School colors. The acorn and branch in the upper left quarter symbolize how the JROTC program plants the seed of citizenship within their cadets, allowing them the opportunity to grow into a “mighty oak tree” in their community. In the upper right quarter, the torch of knowledge represents the importance of academics. Located in the lower left section, the rook refers to the historical significance of the school building within the town of Baldwin. The winged shoe at the bottom right is expressive of the importance of athletics within JROTC. The feathers issuing out from behind the shield allude to the school’s mascot, the Indians. The Latin motto, “ALII UNUM CORPUS” translates to English, “From many come one body.”
